What Votes on motions to go to the Constituency Labour Party All Members Meeting and anywhere else. Organises local campaigning events. Discusses political issues in meetings.
Elects Branch Officers/Coordinators and CLP EC Delegates on a yearly basis.

When Usually meets once a month, except in some branches August and December or when an election is underway.

You can expect discussions on motions and policy, speakers on topics local members have expressed an interest in and the announcement of local activities such as canvassing and days of action. After meetings people often socialise. Your local branch may also organise socials over the summer and in December.

If you want to become a Branch Officer/Coordinator or CLP Delegate, you can stand at your branch’s Annual General Meeting, usually held in September. As a delegate you’ll be expected to regularly attend the CLP Executive Committee and to report back to your branch.

Look out for emails from your branch secretary announcing meetings and come along. Branch secretaries generally try to organise for meetings to take place in accessible venues, but please do let your local secretary know if you have specific requirements.
